HPMC, is a variety of nonionic cellulose mixed ethers. It is a semi-synthetic, inactive, viscoelastic polymer.
HPMC is odorless, tasteless,non-toxic cellulose ethers produce from natural high molecular cellulose through series of chemical processing and achieved.It is white powder with good water solubility. It has thickening, adhesion ,dispersing, emulsifying, film, suspended, adsorption, gel,and protective colloid properties of surface activity and maintain moisture function properties ect.

Physical and chemical performance about the hpmc cellulose:
The appearance: white or white powder, odorless and tasteless.
Particle size: 100 order by the rate of more than 98.5%; 80 mesh through rate in 100%.
The carbonization temperature: 280-300℃.
The apparent density:0.25-0.70g/ (usually 0.5g/). Specific gravity 1.26-1.31.
Temperature: 190-200℃
Spontaneous combustion temperature of about 360℃.
The surface tension of aqueous solution of 42-56dyn/cm:20%.
HPMC with methoxyl content decreases, the gel point elevation, dissolved in water decline, surface activity also decreased.
The solubility: soluble in water and organic solvents, such as an appropriate proportion of ethanol/water, isopropanol/water, two chlorine ethane and. Aqueous solution with surfactant, high transparency, stable performance. Products of different specifications in different gel temperalures, this is HPMC thermal gelation properties. The solubility increases with the viscosity and viscosity change, the lower the solubility, higher, different specifications of the HPMC properties have some differences. HPMC solubility in water is not affected by Ph value influence.
